Sanitary Applications Engineer/Technical Sales Support

Central States Group is a sanitary and industrial distributor looking to add to our applications and technical sales support group at our Cedar Rapids, IA office. This position focuses on sanitary pump & equipment application engineering and customer support for the food & beverage industry. Primary responsibilities include selecting and quoting equipment and solutions to meet our customers’ requirements for new applications, and diagnosing/troubleshooting existing equipment that is already in operation. Employees in this position add value by being a technical expert for our customers and our salespeople in the field.

Prior experience in sanitary equipment and/or processing is preferred. Must have mechanical aptitude and be comfortable with algebra and similar mathematics. Must have practical experience working with Microsoft Office and have solid general computer skills. Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal), a strong work ethic, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. For those without related experience with pumps or rotating equipment, we provide extensive on-the-job training.
